Elle King Reveals She and Dan Tooker Are Back Together One Year After Breakup
View Date:2024-12-24 04:26:52
Elle King and Dan Tooker haven't let go.
Over a year after the couple decided to split, the "Ex's and Oh's" singer announced that they have since reconciled.
"We're back together," Elle said in an interview with People published Sept. 18. "We had to grow. I don't know. I'll try anything twice."
As for what motivated their reconnection? Their 3-year-old son Lucky.
"He's definitely brought me and his dad back together just because, what are we doing?" she continued. "We have everything that both of us have ever wanted right here. Let's put our weapons down. Come on. This is it. This is life. It doesn't get better than this. This is worth trying."
As Elle—who got engaged to Dan in 2020—put it, "My family, this is what deserves all the energy and effort."
And for the family of three, that also means digging strong roots in Tennessee. "We're starting fresh," she noted of their new Nashville home. "It's happy, it's beautiful. I'm very happy."
The 35-year-old—who is the daughter of Rob Schneider and London King—first sparked breakup rumors with Dan when she performed onstage at Stagecoach last April donning a neon green blazer with "single" adorned on the back.
She didn't clarify her relationship status afterward but instead emphasized that she was focusing on herself and her loved ones.
"All I can say is that me and my family are really happy, and my kid is doing well and I feel great," Elle told Entertainment Tonight last June. "So, that's what life looks like for me right now."
So, it’s no surprise their little one—born in September 2021—helped them reunite. And Elle has given all her X’s and O’s into being a parent.
"It has softened me," she told E! News in November 2022. "Now I just want to go home and eat with the baby. Let's watch a movie. I just showed him the original version of Robin Hood and he loves it. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid so it's beautiful. I love being a mom."
She’s also made it a point to lean into his musical talents.
"He's definitely a drummer so he's starting little baby music classes," she shared. "It's really an incredible time of this chapter of life. I'm just full of love and gratitude."
